"My work is
concerned with painting the human figure through the expressive application of paint. The ideas
of my work borrow from European Modernism
as
well as the painterly faction of American Abstract
Expressionism.
Abstract elements
are juxtaposed to figurative elements as a means of experimentation.
However, my goal
while experimenting is not
to lose a positive human
quality.
By connecting the
abstract with the 'real', my hope is to have paintings with a strong visual impact
and a highly
charged emotional pull."
